Founded in 1998 through a partnership with Royal Dutch Shell and Gail India, NatGas is a key natural gas supplier for residential, commercial and industrial clients in Egypt. NatGas has authorized capital of EGP 800 million and paid-in capital of EGP 100 million.
The largest company within the NatEnergy portfolio, NatGas and its 1,000 employees serve over 800,000 customers (800,000 residential; 5,700 commercial; and 625 industrial) through concessions from the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) in Cairo, West Alexandria, Sixth of October City, Borg Al Arab, and, more recently, Beheira. By the end of 2012, NatGas had reached 4.02 billion m3 in natural gas sales to customers.
NatGas also distributes gas to two 3000MW power plants located in Nubaria and Al Atf, and is qualified to conduct project management in turnkey projects, pipeline construction and general operations and management. NatGas is ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified.
NatGas has experienced dramatic growth in recent years, with more than EGP 400 million in revenues in 2012, up close to 11% in three years. While growth in this sector has tapered due to political and economic developments in Egypt, NatGas remains profitable and poised to increase its customer base as the Egyptian gas market expands with a current market share of 15%.
